In partnership with 8 Bells Irish Pub, Midcoast Music Academy is thrilled to present a late night jam as part of Jazz In June 2026. The jam will honor the late Eric Davis and celebrate the enduring spirit of jazz. This event will be led by bandmates of the late Eric Davis (Dave Clarke on guitar and Bill Batty on drums, joined by Ezra Rugg on bass and Dan Wenger on trombone) -- and sponsored by the Eric Davis Jazz Fund; donations will be collected at the jam for the Fund. After the Savani Latin Jazz Quartet finishes at the Opera House, head over to 8 Bells to keep the music flowing. All players are welcome!

Eric Davis was a prolific and beloved figure in the midcoast jazz scene for many years. Eric passed away in 2019, but ensured through the establishment and endowment of his fund that a legacy of jazz study and performance would continue throughout the area. In addition to this event, the Eric Davis Jazz Fund has sponsored Midcoast Music Academy's Jazz Intensive Camp each year, allowing young music students who could not otherwise attend to take part.
